La Medusa was opened by Sherri Serino and Lisa Becklund in October 1997. The two developed a "Sicilian Soul Food" menu inspired by the recipes of Sherri's Sicilian grandmother. The name La Medusa came from Sherri's mentor, Claudia Medusa.
Current chef and co-owner, Julie Andres, worked closely with Serino, learning the history and traditions of Sicilian food. In 2001 Julie traveled to Sicily to immerse herself, experiencing these traditions first-hand.
Julie and her husband, Evan Andres, bought La Medusa in 2003 and have slowly transformed the restaurant and menu with the help of former chef, Earl Hook. Using a combination of Sicilian imports, organic produce and artisanal products whenever possible, Julie creates menus that change seasonally of dishes that nourish the soul. The La Medusa wait staff is trained to help each guest have an exceptional dining experience.
Restaurants are often called "houses" and La Medusa is home to Julie and Evan. Every night La Medusa is open, the goal is for every guest to leave happier than when they arrived. La Medusa is Sicilian inspired food for the soul!
